Metso Goes Global with SMC Test®

Metso’s Process Technology and Innovation (PTI) group is one of the most successful and globally active teams working in the fields of drill & blast and comminution circuit optimisation. Headed by Senior Vice President Dr Walter Valery, the PTI group specialises in Process Integration & Optimisation (Mine to Mill) and also provides services in the areas of circuit design, geometallurgical modelling and throughput forecasting. For their ore characterisation methodology, the PTI group utilises the SMC Test®. As Dr Valery says “Our Group strives to provide our mining clients with the very best service possible. The SMC Test® meets this requirement with its proven track record of accuracy and versatility”.

PTI have been commercially conducting SMC Tests® at their Process Technology Centre in Sorocaba, Brazil and are in the process of installing additional Drop Weight Test devices with licenses to conduct SMC Tests® at their other Process Technology Centres located around the globe. SMCC and PTI will also extend collaboration to other comminution-related areas.
