As related to comminution, Geometallurgical (geomet) modelling aims to relate hardness properties in the pit to the throughput of the comminution circuit. When done correctly this generates a very powerful method for accurately forecasting future production levels and is a vital tool for assessing mine plans and their likelihood of achieving target revenues. This masterclass looks at various ways of developing suitable geomet comminution models and is illustrated using data from a number of published sources which describe models which have been successfully developed by a number of mining companies around the world.
